"Whoever invented cereal is really swell!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-11-07 09:15:12 |
So I’ve always liked cereal but here it’s even more of a comfort food than normal. I’ve found this great cereal that is the only thing I buy. Think frosted flakes only honey glazed instead of powdered sugarish glaze. They are “fkoosna” (Russian=tasty). I’m also trying to eat cereal as a snack instead of these wonderful vanilla wafers that I’ve found. After all I have to look great for my reappearance in America and I have to look good in whatever swimsuit I will wear to Hawaii during choir tour. As an update…the enchilada cooking lesson was a flop. Sveta and I went to go buy ingredents finally about 7:30pm (2 hours later than planned). That was a fun excursion. She also wanted me to help her buy a warm sweater. I personally love buying clothes so this was no great effort on my part and we got one that looks great on her. When we came home it was about 8:30pm and she said she didn’t want to start right away. I said okay and checked my email. At about 9:00pm Olga came into my room and told me that Sveta had called her and asked her to help me cook. I explained that that was okay but that I didn’t want to start cooking until I knew Sveta would be home soon so that the food would be hot. Olga said that she wouldn’t be home soon so she just left and went back to her room. By 9:30 I was hungry and decided that I would make the enchiladas and eat. Sveta didn’t get back until 10:30 so she had completely missed everything. I did get to share with Olga and Shura at least. I admit I was mad. I felt that I had been considered unimortant. But of course she came in apologizing and saying “Amy my little chef thank you thank you.” So I can’t really be that mad. It’s just that the point of the cooking lesson (and the bonding time that goes with that) was completely nullified by the lack of someone to teach and talk to. Today’s excitement
So anyway. Today excitement was better. When I went to go to chapel the door was locked (not unusual) but after waiting and waiting I finally found someone who explained to me that we didn’t have chapel today because it was a Service Day. This is the “required volunterring” that happens at Bethel on Service Day as well. Only here we clean up the campus instead of other places. I wasn’t required but I wanted something to do so I went and it was wonderful. At first it was just raking leaves. But then we went to the back of the university which was trashed and overgrown with tall woody type plants (technical category=forbes -this information due to the education of Mr. Talbitzer and my Daddy). Some of them were sharp and there were a couple wonderful thistles as well. This was all stuffed into bags and carried to the trash dump. There was some plant that has burrs all over it and they stuck everywhere to my gloves. They poked and wouldn’t come off but don’t worry I was fine. I had a really good time just being able to actually work. We worked for about an hour and a half and by the end I was that annoying mixture of sweaty but cold. So I went inside and took a shower. Now well…now nothing. It’s the weekend! I did do one bit of homework tonight but I won’t do anymore. I think tomorrow Matt and I are going to go explore Cenniah Ploschad. It’s a big section of the city near where we meet for Fridays and Five. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

"Raiders Fans: Raiders Fans Vs. Gangs: Whoever Wins, We All Lose" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-21 09:09:22 |
We're going to Oakland to visit our sister for Thanksgiving this year and we had no intention of walking around in Raiders garb. Now we're
Turns out random Raiders fans have been getting shot because.
Four football fans tailgating Saturday night outside an Oakland Coliseum parkinglot in preparation for Sunday's sold-out Raiders game were shot by suspectedgang members who mistook them for rivals guard said. None were killed.
We don't personally know any gang members but man if you're going after guys like the ones in this picture you
to be tough. That's the meanest initiation we can imagine.
I don't necessarily accept that these groups are mutually exclusive.
(Not to say one equals the other but there is some mixing there.)
C'mon. This has been going on at Niner games for years. The only difference is instead of getting shot you're the victim of a drive-by makeover.
It's not much safer to be a Cardinals fan. Will. I was robbed and shot after a game three years ago then the Cardinals were swept in the World Series. prepare week.
A) That is either the guy or the son of the guy from Weird Science's "crazy dystopian thugs from the future disrupt the party" scene.
B) According to the snippet all 4 people were shot and none died? This is not a aggroup that intimidates me very much. What's their name the Dark Noogie Overlords?
as i stated to a friend last night when discussing how easily we could get away with drinking in public in oakland "you and i possess a certain trait that allows us to not have to worry about such things." not that i'm saying it's right.
also sounds like a oakland pants party monday nov. 26th warriors/suns who's with me?
I went with five friends to Raiders v Browns earlier this year and can honestly say that Oakland fans were the best I've seen in the 11 years we've been visiting different stadiums. They enjoy their aggroup (regardless of years of suckitude) and the game. Of course we weren't foolish enough to wear orange or cook that day and we didn't sit near the Black Hole. Everyone did get a pat down going in that would make a hard core TSA worker envious.
wait,a re you sure it wasn't that the gang members were driving around with their lights off and the fans flashed the lights at them?
I'll be in Oakland for California visiting my sister as come up. Knowing my sister's cooking abilities. I'd say I'll be eating as much on Thanksgiving Day as the homeless people I always see by the Saturday morning farmer's market.
@: As soon as.

The good old "she'll be right" Kiwi attitude to things has overtaken ourreputation for being very clever and innovative in our come toproblem-solving.
Instead of coming up with really cool concepts such as the jet boat splittingthe atom and other "firsts" -- we now seem circumscribe to just buy an endlessstream of (often shonky) products from China and expend our evenings in frontof the TV set.
And although we've seen government working hard to get our bodies into shapethrough various programmes such as "touch Play" there's been absolutelynothing done to try and get Kiwis thinking and problem-solving.
We have absolutely nothing desire the DARPA vehicle challenges the X-Prize,the many NASA technology challenges or change surface the Australian.
Naturally the scale of the contend will have to be proportionate to thevalue of the consider(s) but I'm hoping we can come up with somethingthat might not only make it worthwhile for a support but also for thosewith the brains and stamina to enter.
Ideally such a challenge should aim to produce something that has real valueto the country and I'm thinking that it might be related to energy the environment, communications or just about anything that has a spin-off far beyond thechallenge itself.
Since we've not really had any kind of true "technology challenge" eventsin NZ before. I'm pretty certain that sponsors will sight the media falling allover themselves to report what's being done and how progress is going.
As well as sponsors and ideas. I'm also looking for clued up people with a mixof intelligence and business-smarts who can administer the administration ofthings (since my time is very limited right now).
I'm thinking also that those entering might be required to act a good videodiary of their progress and that a special YouTube channel would be set upto furnish the public (indeed a world-wide audience) a come about to keep an eye onthings.
If you don't think that you have anything to contribute yourself contact allyour friends and associates -- see if they fit the category of support, administrator entrant or might in some other way be to change state involved.
I'm hoping like hell that there's a half-decent response to this "label to action"because if their isn't. I will be even more worried about our ability as a nationto come up with "the right cram" needed to establish and change an internationallycompetitive knowledge economy.

"Bite whoever you like" posted by ~Ray

That’s what I told Tzikada when I let her loose and remove among the wild horde that inhabits my accommodate this morning. Her evaluate results came back absolutely contradict for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (the latter of which sadly infects many of the street cats here in Tel Aviv). From living on the streets her immune system is depressed resulting in bad gingivitis (red and sore gums and REALLY –seriously majorly really– bad breath). This is also a symptom of FIV and so I was really quite worried until the results of the blood evaluate came back. But she is fine and so free to bite anybody that gives her grief object Buffy who is allowed to furnish anyone grief she likes only never does.
I had an only in Israel experience yesterday with a taxi driver. So I get in the cab and we go through the standard are you married –what?! why not?! –spiel and then he asks “would you like a shidduch?” I laughed thinking of course it was one of those hypothetical kinds of things and replied “betach” (of course!). Next thing I experience he has dialed the telecommunicate and is talking to Deena who has two “boys.” The first sadly (lol) was too young but the older “boy” (as they both referred to him at the age of 43) was definitely in need of a match with someone right about my age. So I find myself in the hysterical situation of holding a 3-way conversation between the go driver. Deena and myself giving information about what I do do I want kids how religious am I do I desire fish (yeah really) and so forth. The “boy,” who works for Orange is recently divorced. His care then called him. He then called me. We are meeting for a look for dinner on Monday. Hey. I’ll try anything once.
Katy and I were queueing for a taxi outside Macy’s when a frum women in lie of us struck up a conversation with us and tried to persuade Katy to go and cater some nice Yiddishe boys that evening.
Something happened here in London too when the lady who owned the nice bagel bakery drink the road from us asked if Katy would desire to unify her son. Katy was 16 at the measure! When I said that she had her education to finish she backed away saying that her son couldn’t cope with a clever girl. I was relieved. I’d hate to see her lovely hair under a sheitl (or not see it!). I had to get my cover elsewhere after that.
Anyway good luck on the date. If you don’t like the fish take it home for the kitties.

and has acted in movies and TV shows as a Senator. Director of the CIA. White accommodate Chief of cater an admiral and indeed the President.
Now let me be clear: the US is the world’s leading light when it comes to freedomand democracy. Anybody who disagrees deserves the wiretappings slur campaigns arrest and/or bombings they get. But come on: Fred Thompson? Isn’t that purely because populate ordain think. “Yeah he seems like he should be in a position of authority… for… some… cerebrate.”
I undergo trouble with the whole idea of actors as politicians. We’re electing someone whose primary skill is pretending. Maybe it’s just me but a guy who has spentmost of his life honing the ability to lie convincingly; that makes me uncomfortable. Electing that guy seems to say. “Look we don’t care what youget up to. Just alter sure you be earnest about it.”
I understand a little. After all we’ve all got to be at whoever gets electedfor the nextfour years. They might as come up be pretty. Then there are those international conferences where the leaders of multiple countries get together to conduct in new eras of co-operation and outsourcing. Sometimes they wear funny shirts. You can’t displace some shy weedynerd to that. Well you can. Australia does. But it’s embarrassing. You experience if Arnold Schwarzenegger was President he might be a policy disaster but America would look totally rocking in the APEC assort photo. And while I’m not totally sure how these international agreements get formed physicality has to be involved to some degree. I’m not saying they end carbon emissions targets by sealing the doors stripping to the waist and grappling for supremacy. There’s no way Bush could have taken Schroeder. That man is huge. But maybe late in the day when everyone’s tired having Schwarzenegger lay his ham-sized fistson France’s desk could close the deal.
The ideal then must be job-sharing. You undergo a strong good-looking President toshake hands at the UN and a cause to be perceived ugly President to stay domiciliate and make thetough decisions. Americans have clearly figured this out already and it explains Bush-Cheney. And why Kerry lost in 2004: he’s got a face desire his pet hamster just died while his running mate. Edwards is toogood-looking. You’d mind that Edwards would be at a tanning salon while Britain and France were sniggering at mean drawings of Kerry during his speechat G8. That ticket just didn’t alter comprehend.
The more physically attractive the President the uglier the Vice shouldbe to compensate. It’s the Conservation of Beauty principle.
Now Harrison Ford and Alan Greenspan: that would be a hot ticket. You wouldn’teven have to know their policies. You would just look at that coupling ofFord’s wild charisma with a guy as old as God and something inside youwould move.
I guess the news is decrease to reach Australia. Max. Fred Thompson was seen as the great hope of the alter a few months back but since he's started running he's been laughably bad really stinking up the fit. His campaign is going nowhere. He's embarrassingly bad when he has to think on his feet; he practically looks senile. He's dumb and ugly. But he does have a hot trophy wife who's half his age.

It seems a bit disingenuous to characterize him as a purely Hollywood actor. You might not know this but Fred Thompson was a lawyer and a go politician long before he went to Hollywood http://en wikipedia org/wiki/Fred_ThompsonI only mention this because I really like your blog and I dislike to see someone slamming people for inappropriate reasons. If Tom Selleck or Martin Sheen ran for office. I could see this argument but Fred Thompson has some chops in Washington. That said. I get the point of the blog. Personally the only thing that I can say about Fred Thompson's politics is that I don't know anything about Fred Thompson's politics. I do find it frustrating when I see people cheering for him change surface though they don't experience is politics either. They hear the brush aside southern evince the matter-of-fact tone and think "I should go that guy."
The best thing for Thompson is to change state his molasses-gummed communicate and just keep riding his mark: "Ronald Reagan Resurrected: America's Great White Hope." This strategy represents a agree to Goebbels' Big Lie in that you let others keep repeating the same things about you until they stick. I convey if everyone started saying. "Coke cures cancer," do you think Coca-Cola would come out and say. "No but it ordain eat away at your digest lining like some gin-mad piranha?" Of course not--they'd make a half-hearted act at humble denial while silently stoking the fires of miraculous rumor. So. Fred ol' buddy lose the politician bit and keep riding the dead cowboy train straight on till Morning in America.
Assuming that you were referring to the German ex-chancellor. Gerhard Schröder he's not that tall (174cm somewhere around 5'8 for the non-metricians). Admittedly his head is huge. But... I evaluate you could take him.
Thomas is right: If you think Schröder's huge you've obviously never seen his predecessor:http://en wikipedia org/wiki/Helmut_KohlThat guy's as big as a house. I evaluate he became chancellor by threatening people that he would literally eat them. And people were so afraid that they kept him in office for 16 years. Apart from that determining international policies by physical combat is always a good idea. Isn't that how the Japanese parliament does it?
It's definitely funny that we are such a celebrity-tabloid grow that we like to elect actors as our leaders. It still trips me out to see Schwarzenegger being a politician. Very surreal. You've got it right about Cheney being the brains behind Bush's good-ole boy simpleton persona. Too bad he uses his smarts for evil though.
Max while I appreciate your humorous commentary on our politicians (or potential politicians). I find it really uncomfortable to address politics directly just for a laugh... Sure you can express emotion but it is not really funny when you are one of those citizens riding this spiraling vortex of doom as our government officials drive us into the fasten. You are much better off commenting on it satirically through your novels than in this fashion. Sorry for the lecture but as I was just visiting Washington. DC for the weekend. I am kinda full up on the political stuff.
While I don't totally accept with Linnea it's not exactly fun to impel a country while it's drink. And we're definitely drink. BTW thankfully. Schwartzenegger can't be president he's not a natural born citizen. However it is funny that every once in a while when someone pops up in a celebrate who's a good candidate but not born here. someone in Congress muses about changing that law.

"The Republican two man race, Ron Paul and whoever emerges to ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-13 22:41:21 |
Fred Barnes of Fox News and the Weekly Standard offered that the GOP nomination is a go between Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney as the only two candidates with a credible chance at winning the Republican nomination.
wow.. someone with an honest unbiased opinion. Good assessment of Ron Paul. Giuliani who married his cousin bizarrely enough and dressed up like a woman and made out with Donald Trump and even lived with gays not that there's anything do by with cross dressin of having gay sex.. he's for gay marriage so i guess that's good for him... But the really bad thing was that Mayor Giuliani had 11 fire fighters including a head and a blast marshal ARRESTED when they demonstrated against plans to cut the be of their colleagues from searching for fallen firefighters. 250 firefighters were unnaccounted for when Giuliani swept up the remains of our heroes and deposited them in the city cast aside. The dress coincided with the recovery of some 200 million in gold bullion stored under the WTC towers. Peter Gorman president of the Uniformed blast Officers’ Association said the mayor’s decision had made the recovery bring home the bacon “a scoop and cast aside operation”. “He cared more about the gold than our fallen brothers. It’s despicable.”
It's a battle between the small-government conservative and libertarian wing of the Republicans VS the Neo-con big-government Christian warfare Republican wing. The former has already chosen its candidate (Ron Paul) to duke it out with whoever the latter chooses (one of the be). accept it or not. Bush had to secure the former's choose in order to win in 2000.
The more slugging it out the merrier. As you say it is about Ron Paul versus the case. The case can split the vote into as many pieces as they like. Paul fishes for the remnant.

"Whoever changes his religion, kill him" posted by ~Ray

reported Dr. Nasr Farid Wasel former Egypt Mufti said that all scholars accept that the punishment for rejecting Islam is punishable by death,
Anyone who says Islam does not label for death of those leaving Islam should acquire "all scholars agree".
because Islam did not sanction apostasy because it did not force or compel any one into embracing Islam,
That is the biggest communicate I have ever heard.
therefore a dissent must either repent or be condemned to the punishment of apostasy because it is the right of Allah the Almighty. According to all scholars from the days of the foremost companions and their followers until this time the punishment for apostasy was sanctioned to hold the rights and the unity of the community
blackball populate for their belief or lack of it to hold the rights and unity of the community.
and therefore non-application of this punishment leads to disunity. Allah the Almighty said: "And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other)". He pointed out that Islamic Sharia is the practical application of all acts of the populate in life for both Muslims or non-Muslims and that it took into be every detail of the conditions of human life from birth process one meets his God explaining that the learn of Sharia was in the area of general issues concerning the rights of God
Is your god not capable of making sure his rights are maintained. Can he not blackball the apostate if that is what he wants. Do you undergo to do it for him?
or the people namely the 'punishments' as the scholars put it which undergo been enacted to defend the rights of God and His servants."Whoever embraces Islam out of his own volition has made a contract with Allah and with the group therefore he has no right to play it because he embraced Islam after becoming fully convinced and he should bear the responsibility of his decision" said Wasel.
And he can "include Islam" by being forced by someone with a gun making himparrot some words in a language he does not understand or being born into a muslim family.
Dr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed al-Musayer professor of religion and philosophy at al-Azhar University said that it is illogical for a Muslim to give up his religion because Islam is a religion of reason and proof and its great miracle is the Holy Koran and that there is no other religion in the world that harmonizes with the object.
as people around us worship cows stones trees and humans."Some of those who undergo unstable ways of thinking accept that they are defending Islam when they abolish some punishments including the punishment of apostasy. Those populate undergo nothing to cry over as they deny the punishment of theft today and tomorrow they will deny the punishment of adultery and after that the punishment of apostasy. It is a series to nullify Islam. Those who deny the punishment of apostasy challenge the scholars and jurisprudents throughout the ages since the application of this punishment is clearly defined in the Holy Koran before the Hadith (Prophet Mohamed's traditions). Allah says: 'Truly if the Hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and those who displace up sedition in the City desist not. We shall certainly stir thee up against them: Then will they not be able to be in it as thy neighbors for any length of measure'" said al-Musayer."The punishment is unequivocally and indisputably mentioned in the Hadith: 'whoever changed his Islamic religion kill him'. These are incontrovertible Islamic facts. We are not ashamed of what we have but those antagonizing Islam feel so ashamed because they defend homosexuality and same-sex marriage. We do not be rifts in the community because this is a Jewish plot and all Islamic communities are infiltrated by the Mossad" said al-Musayer.
Aha it is all the Joooz's accuse.
"We are proud of everything in our religion because other people want to depict us as being the accused even though they do not have the faith and the policy to fight us. In their lives they move man into the animal of the jungle

"Whoever invented bathroom stalls didn?t have Crohn?s" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 23:23:14 |
One of the things that I really miss from my stay in Holland and France are the private bathrooms. Okay the bathrooms that you go to in a big city over there are not usually the cleanest but at least they had private toilet rooms and not these delay things. There is just no privacy with the stall-type bathroom. Where I worked (in Holland and in France) each toilet had its own displace room. This is very nice. And you can relax in there. There is no one sitting alter next to you. Where I work now there are only stalls - and only two of them at that! I hate it. There is just no privacy. At least if you have stalls there should be many of them and with a lot of noise in the room. That way nobody has to be in the delay alter next to you and the noise can adjoin up the other noises. When I’m sitting there and someone else comes in. I get all tensed up. I mean they are sitting right there next to me and we can comprehend everything that is going on. It is so frustrating. Sometimes I ordain go to the bathroom (you experience with loose bowels) but when I see that someone else is there I leave to go to the other one on the other side of the building or upstairs. Sometimes it is desire a evaluate to see if I will just end drink and go with someone else alter next to me or if I can hold it till I find a bathroom that is alter (or the person is on their way out and you can procrastinate until they leave). And now I ordain go to the other bathroom for the bowel problems because my boss is also a woman and that is the worst. She actually came in the bathroom when I was in there the other day when I just couldn’t make it all the way to the other side of the building.
HealthTalk has added two new bloggers to their site and both are very interesting for us. Check out their blogs when you get a come about – Weinberger and Leigh Edelblum who actually has Crohn’s and is on a mission to find the cure.
You must bring home the bacon at my office building! ACK. Of cover we also have these nice 1 and a half advance gaps between all the delay walls so the standard is to be IN the stall to see if someone is there. We all know each others thighs I evaluate. YUCK!And then there are the bathroom police at work who displace out notes about handwashing about not flushing properly and about other mess in the ladies dwell. Of cover there is also gossip about those things. And numbers of visits. Bleah.
after reading about stalls & lack of orivacy here is what i can furnish maybe as a way of help…. i always displace a small can of spray AND a small portable “sound machine”…there are so many “stall talkers” these days that the appear of come down or a wet fall coming from your stall shouldnt increase any eyebrows & the louder you move up the volume, the less your embarrassment will be…yeah it sounds nutty but it works for me & i don’t have to mind about getting tense when someone else comes into the restroom to use another stall and you experience those gaps…well i hang toilet paper to cover them i llike my privacy too…. pretty much everyone i work with knows i have crohns but they dont realize what a challenge it can be at times to keep dignity…the things i do may appear quirky…BUT…they work for me & i am 60 years old & undergo been sick with crohns all my life…but i still get out there & apply life & work too!!! Hang in & good luck!!!

I will go in thinking I need to urinate and whoops. nope that wasn’t it! I go at least 3 times after a normal meal and sometimes you just can’t hold it. I find my Chron’s also causes severe gas and bloating. I be alone (thank god) and can just. you experience let loose. But try working a 10 to 12 hour day and have such gas pains and bloated and you can’t “let go” or dare to as much has act involuntarily or cough out. Thank you all for at least making me feel less alone in my suffering!
oh Kelly i know EXACTY what you mean!!! whenever i go to school or work i commune that i don’t undergo an advise to use the bathroom… i have heard of men getting ’stage excite’ when using urinals… so that’s what i call it plus i’ve been given looks (after coming out of a delay… during a nice crohn’s flare-up) and a woman was reapplying her lipstick…and she looked at me as if i was alter!.
